BALI Awards 2026
Our clients had recently moved in. The rear garden was mainly lawn, with a summerhouse, deck and pond in the far corner, and they wanted help turning a blank space into a garden.
New boundary fencing was emphasising the garden’s rectangular shape, so the planting needed to break it up. The scheme adds trees for height and depth, climbers to soften the fencing, and a blend of structural shrubs, grasses and perennials for softness, colour and texture.
A mood board and plant list were prepared for the clients’ approval. From these we calculated quantities for each variety and set out the scheme on site.
The planting is still young, and it will soften the garden further as it establishes. The clients are delighted and looking forward to seeing it mature. The existing lawn was retained.
